36 Weeks...And ready to pop!

So we made it to 36 weeks! This is amazing for twins. If I go into labor now, the babies will be just fine. And I really want to go into labor!!!! I am so ready. As you can see from the pictures...the belly is HUGE and not the easiest thing to move around with. I am officially off bedrest, but being that I haven't moved too much for the past 5 weeks, everything makes me exhausted. I am trying to run around and get every last little thing done before they get here.

We took advantage of my first night off bedrest with a date night to Zane's, it was so nice to join the world again ;) And then on Saturday night I was able to make it to dinner to celebrate my friend Dawn's Birthday! It was so great to have a mini GNO( Girl's Night Out). So now we are just waiting. The last babies measurements were Baby A was 6 lbs 4 oz, and Baby B was 4 lbs 14oz,. It is completely fine that they are very different, they are fraternal after all. The scheduled C-section is now less than 2 weeks away, but I am hoping to go into labor sooner than that. Sleeping is getting extremely difficult, and I am just generally uncomfortable at this point. I am also dying to meet them!!

Please enjoy some of the pictures from the last week or so.......

The Nursery!!

So FINALLY....here are the pictures that everyone has been asking about! I am so excited, and the room turned out exactly as I had hoped! The walls were painted a similar color when this all began, so that is what inspired the aqua. I couldn't find bedding that I liked anywhere, so I found a fabric and had it all made by this amazing woman. I cannot wait to put the little ones in the cribs!

Happy Valentine's Day!!

OK, so despite being laid up, we had the most wonderful Valentine's day! Mike came home and surprised me with 4 dozen roses! He said he had to outdo the 3 dozen that my Dad had sent me over the weekend! Sorry Dad! He also brought some Veuve champagne (which I had a nice big glass of!), and he brought take-out from my favorite restaurant Petros! We set the coffee table all nice and pretty, and had such a romantic valentines...our last one just the two of us! Thanks honey for making it so sweet!

33 weeks! And still Pregnant!!

We have reached another week and they are still in there!! Whohoo!!!! Mike took a few pictures over the weekend, so I posted those, and if I don't say so myself....I AM GETTING HUGE!! All this resting has really caught up with me, and my belly is out of control right now. Bed rest is still manageable, and Mike even let me sneak out this weekend to go visit our good friends Erika & Jeremie to visit their brand new baby girl Sydney- Adorable is all I can say. What a beautiful baby!!! Erika and I have gone through our pregnancies together, so it is so amazing to see her with her little one, it only made me want mine more!
At my appt this morning, My OB said she would take me off Bed-rest at 36 weeks and let me return to whatever normal activities I can handle.... so less than 3 weeks to go on this recliner! I can handle that! And at that point, we will just wait for me to go into labor. It is all coming so quick, and the nursery is done. I will post those pics next. Thank you all for your well wishes and visits, and let's pray they stay in there for at least 3 more weeks!

CONGRATS TO MY AMAZING HUSBAND!!

OK, this has nothing to do with the babies, but I have to give a GIANT shout out to my fabulous husband for winning Impact player of the year, and Rookie of the year! He made 130% of his goal for 2010! He has worked so hard and really deserves these recognitions! I may complain about all the dinners and time away from me, but clearly all his hard work and devotion really has paid off. Unfortunately, he was unable to attend the big dinner because his wife was too pregnant :(
CONGRATULATIONS MIKE!!!

32 Weeks 5 days

So nothing too new to report, Yes I am slacking on getting my 32 weeks pictures up. Mike has been super busy with work this week, and has had 2 dinners, so I will blame him for my tardiness of getting pictures taken :)
I am still on Bed rest, and it's actually going by pretty quickly. I have been so fortunate and had so many visitors that have brought me so many lunches and goodies... Mackenzie & her twins, Amanda & all the meatloafs and cupcakes, Marci & baby Rainey, Katie & her twins, Meg & baby Sarah, Kelsey, Dee, Erika & Jeremy (the night before they gave birth!), Kacey & Rossi, ...I hope I am not forgetting anyone! But I have been so lucky to have so many people really pull through when I needed them!
The downside....is that I have now developed a rash, the dermatologist said it was hives, but I feel like I am 7 with the chicken pox! It is so darn itchy!! I am on antihistamines and some special oil that is supposed to help with the itching- it barely does.
My goal now is stay on bed rest until week 37, if I can. So that is about 4 more weeks! I can handle this for the little ones.

Oh! I almost forgot..... the babies got weighed this week. Baby A is 4.5lbs, and Baby B is 4lbs. So they are growing very well, they are bigger than some singleton babies at this point! The nursery should be done by this weekend.....someone had a little too much "fun" last weekend, and couldn't muster the energy to finish it. He promised this weekend he would :) I will post pics as soon as we finish! It looks amazing!

31 Weeks 3 days

So, apparently gloating about how great your pregnancy is really bites you in the butt! Since the update last week, things have changed slightly. On Wednesday morning, there was some spotting, and luckily I had my dear friend Amanda to race me to the hospital. The spotting stopped, but contractions began. They tried just about every drug to get them to stop, but my body fought through all the meds! Pretty much I have been contracting anywhere from every 5-10 minutes since Wed. We had a slight scare when they started talking about delivering the babies that night, but then things calmed down when my cervix was not dialating. So nothing has really changed in 6 days, no cervical changes, but still having contractions.
I am now home on Strict Bed Rest! I can get up to use the bathroom, shower for under 10 minutes, and make a quick bite to eat. Mike has set me up with everything I need within arms reach, and I have many a projects that I can tackle while lying here. I also have a bevy of friends that have come by or offered to come by and hang out with me, so it is really not so bad. Anything I can do to have happy, healthy, not-in-the-nicu babies.

This was pretty much expected with a twin pregnancy, and that is why I was such a neurotic planner, and we had everything done by 28 weeks! Most every mom of twins I have met was on bed rest by now, I was lucky to get to 30 weeks. Nursery is done, all baby classes completed, hospital bag was packed, so I feel very prepared, I just really don't want them to come for at least another 4 weeks!

As of Friday, Baby A was weighing in at a hefty 3 lbs 14oz ( in the 95th percentile!) and Baby B is right on track at a normal weight of 3 lbs, 3 oz. So they are doing beautifully!
